30 mei 2007 - Er komt een groot complex met onder meer een businesshotel, congrescentrum en bedrijfsgebouwen naast de oprit van rijksweg A12 bij Ede. Het komt in de geluidswal waar nu bioscoop Cinemec is gevestigd.

30 mei 2007 - In Amsterdam zijn het eerste kwartaal van dit jaar 788 woningen in aanbouw genomen. Dat is een dramatische daling ten opzichte van dezelfde periode vorig jaar, toen het aantal nog 3511 woningen bedroeg.

De nationale luchthaven Schiphol vindt het noodzakelijk dat er een nieuwe passagiersterminal komt. Het nieuwe areaal zou aangesloten moeten worden op het regionale spoornetwerk. Dat schrijft Schiphol in zijn langetermijnvisie aan het kabinet, die vrijdag is gepubliceerd. Daarbij kijkt de luchthaven naar de capaciteitsknelpunten tot 2030.

De bouwambities van de Twentse gemeenten en woningcorporaties zijn onrealistisch hoog. Dat constateert het onderzoeksbureau Companen in het Twents Woningmarktonderzoek 2007. Het toekomstige aanbod woningen overtreft in verre de vraag als de gemeenten hun woningbouwprogramma niet bijstellen.

BAM gaat samenwerken met het Dutch Infrastructure Fund (DIF). Vier Britse pps-projecten van het Bunnikse bouwconcern worden ondergebracht in een nieuw bedrijf dat is opgericht met het investeringsfonds. Dat heeft BAM gisteren bekendgemaakt.

Located in North London on a site flanked by a railway embankment, the Keyhole House is a 3 storey ‘eco friendly’ single family project by the Crawford Partnership.
The house is accessed by a narrow ‘undercroft’ passage - not much more than an alley - between two neighboring houses, which creates an interesting entry into the project. Due to the site constraints, the house occupies the entire available plot - and creates an internal covered access ‘gallery’, which is top lit, that leads to the main house from the street.
From the street the house has almost no presence - simply a new doorway between existing homes. upon entering into the site, and the ‘access gallery’, one approaches a distinctly modern structure - open plan at ground floor, with full height continuous windows along the tree lines railway embankment, which provides natural shading to the home.
As previously mentioned, the project is ‘eco friendly’ - designed with triple glazed windows with external copper mesh shutters to balance solar gain, a green roof & grey water recycling system, a ground source heat pump system along with some solar hot water heating, and photovoltaic panels to generate a portion of the projects electricity.
Crawford Partnership is a small [10 people] firm in the London, founded by Alan Crawford in 1995.

29 mei 2007 - Op woensdag 13 juni vindt in Club 11 in Amsterdam de tweede Amsterdamse Pecha Kucha Night plaats. Pecha Kucha, Japans voor ‘geklets’, is de naam van een culturele clubavond waarbij twaalf ‘creatieven’ (architecten, vormgevers, wetenschappers, kunstenaars, etc.) hun ideeën en werk aan het publiek mogen presenteren in een vast format.

29 mei 2007 - Erick van Egeraat heeft een Award van de Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) ontvangen voor het Middlesborough Institute of Modern Art (MIMA). Het begin dit jaar opgeleverde gebouw dingt nu mee naar de Britse nationale Awards en de Stirling Prize.

29 mei 2007 - Het Braziliaanse MMBB Arquitectos heeft de Award voor de beste inzending voor de tentoonstelling Visionary Power van de derde Internationale Architectuur Biënnale Rotterdam (IABR) gewonnen. De jury roemde het project Watery Voids in Sao Paulo om zijn realisme en de intelligente wijze waarop het de officiële infrastructuur koppelde aan de problematiek van de informele stad, de favela?s.
